The Tiptop Audio Grain de Folie is a cartridge for use with the Tiptop Z-DSP. Consisting of 8 effects based around the concept of Granular Synthesis, the Grain de Folie allows you to combine multiple grains of varying lengths, pitch, speed, and amplitude to create new sounds and textures from existing material. The Z-DSP uses a block of memory to hold digital samples for playback, and the grains in the Grain de Folie programs/algorithms will sample and modify small sections of these existing samples. With a variety of grain options, the Grain de Folie gives you access to a world of rich, dense, digital sonic bliss.
